I am a pastor in the United Church of Christ, serving a church in the seacoast region of New Hampshire. This blog is an attempt to have a conversation about Christian scripture and tradition in a modern setting. To look beyond the imagery that works in Christian imaginations, but that has no basis in scripture. To try for a fresh, new reading of scriptures that have become familiar to the point of losing their meaning to us.
For what it’s worth, though, I never preach a sermon – or write a blog post – that I don’t need to hear myself.
All biblical citations, unless otherwise noted, are from the New Revised Standard Version.
All opinions, theological or otherwise, are my own, and do not necessarily represent the views of my church or of the United Church of Christ.
If you would like to see these blog posts in full sermon form (not all of them were preached, but many were) the archive is here.
